Mom needs thermometer help!! STAT!!?
I have bought three different thermometers for my son–2 different digital and one that has attachments for oral, underarm and rectal. Everytime I seem to take his temperature, I get a different reading. My doctor recommended taking it under his arm and advised against the rectal one becaue it could hurt him. But the underarm one seems to be a VASTLY different reading each time. I have looked online but one report says that the ear is the best and the next one says that the ear is the most inaccurate. I don’t know who or what to believe!
Does anyone have any suggestions? Please be specific–brand and type (if you can!) I want an ACCURATE baby thermometer (preferably one that takes a quick temperature–my 9 month old is pretty wiggly!) I don’t really care about cost but would like a recommendation of one that I can find easily! PLEASE help!

HoW DO I USE A BASAL THERMOMETER????
hello everyone! well i bought a basal temperature today and i have irregular periods so is it still going to work??? then i read someone elses question and answers about basal thermometer and it said that you could do it oral or vaginally…what does this mean????the person at the store told me to stick it under my toungue but in the front it says oral,etc.also when my temperature is the highest is that when im ovulating????thanks!

Question about the 4-in-1 Safety First Thermometer?
I have the 4-in-1 Safety First Thermometer. You can switch between oral, anal, under the arm, or bath water mode.
Anyway, I’m a bit confused on how to read the temperature on the underarm mode. My 3 year old has been running a fever the past few days (at one point 103.6, my poor girl) so I have been taking her temp a lot. I was using the oral mode, but she’s not the best yet at keeping it under her tongue, so I switched to the underarm mode.
Here’s my question. Since the thermometer actually has a mode for taking the temperature under the arm, would I have to add a degree? Or is that just when you use a regular thermometer? I’ve been looking online all morning, but can’t seem to find the instructions for it and I am assuming I threw mine away. I’ve been adding a degree, just in case, but.

What are the causes of high body temp. other than illness?
What are the causes of temperatures of 99 or 100. and nothing above that are not related to illness? I’ve been real tired and run down lately, working alot. I also take echinacea everyday (about 12 of them or more) and ive been taking that for about a month now, i also take vitamins and vitamin c seperately. Maybe i shouldn’t be taking so much echinacea ? (or it shouldn’t be taken on an everyday and weekly basis?) Right now it’s late, i’m exhausted and the thermometer (oral mouth therm.) is reading 99.0. I’m so lost.

Q: Is the temperature using rectal thermometer is 2 degrees higher?
I am trying to understand the differences between a regular thermometer and a rectal one. Does either one show the correct body temperature? If rectal one does and you use a normal thermometer is your real temperature 2 degrees higher than the oral one shows?
